    I've discovered that there's a missing SMD resistor (R4) on my BIFRC V1.2 board. This may explain why it's not triggering the MOSFETS. The 0603 SMD (R4) should be soldered on two round pads just above the "KEY" silk screen label, adjacent to the SOT-23 package (branded J3Y). Can anyone with a working board please tell me what the value of R4 is?

    why is it that when someone is doing a build or install they show you everything but how it sounds? at least this guy showed how it sounds for literally 14 seconds of a 16 minute video, do you rerally think more people care about the build more than the sound? they dont most people just want to see what a 2.5 inch sub woofer really sounds like. if they are going to build something they are going to build there own just like you did and not follow someone elses design ideas. just sayin.

    Hello there first off thank you for such a well put together video so informative and well done it helped tremendously I recently purchased about 100 of these cells and used 84 to make a 72 volt battery the battery feeds a controller that 72 volt 60 amps to a 72 volt 3000 watt 60 amps Vevor motor the controller shuts down when battery is reduced by 25% could that be due to the voltage lag of the cells due to the internal resistance of the cells thank you for help

    • @njfulwider5
      @njfulwider5 Рік тому

      Pretty sure the leads are straight copper. Ive noticed that any leads I use like this will stick after awhile. I probably just need a light sanding. But so far I used this Tab welder on 4 battery pack. 2 x 3s, 1 x 3s2p, 5s3p and 7s3p. Seems to do an ok job, just wished the battery lasted longer and the leads didn't get to hot.

      @njfulwider5 Рік тому

      I'll have to see if I can find what I used. I remember it was a 5000mah and boost of 175c. Your going to find that most of these types use mofsets. Even the spendy kweld and maletrex welders. Typically 3s and 4s. Now I use those flat cells spim08hp 3s2p. That gives me a boost of 600 amps to around 1200. Most of the welders like this just needs a minimum of 200 amps.

    Was drilling the holes in the pad problematic at all? I don't know a lot about how these pads are constructed but my fear would be its something like a multi layer PCB board and something would go wrong if you drilled through it but it appears they are just power and ground pads so no reason why they would be multilayer. If you haven't had any issues then I'll probably give it a go. The 460's are $10 a piece and I have a spare one. I recently found the 1200SB's for $19 shipped and might grab a lot of them.

      It's been awhile, but I don't remember there being any issues. If I remember correctly, the only issue I had was the bottom nuts on the bottom of the power case would sometimes get stuck and spin, but still came out after. But I don't believe I had the issues you mentioned. It was a long time since I did this video. Pretty sure once I taped it up so no small pieces went in the componits and short it out. I just drilled the holes starring with a tiny bit and working my way up slowly till I had the right size. No issues. I've also seen it done without holes, they just layed the plugs down and soldered on. I'd use Google and you'd be surprised how many different ways there are to do it. I also did a 24v version, but I need to edit part 2 of the video

    great video, some information, I bought the same model of power supply from ebay, I don't know if it is defective, not having an identical model, I will describe what happens, if I load a 300w medium absorption rx580 video card, I hear a strong internal electric hum and normal? then without any boot board connection, i just apply electric plug it starts the fan starts automatically, is this normal?

    • @njfulwider5

      I've heard of this with the lower power ones, but I'm unsure what problem they had. I've purchased 6 of these(750-1200w) and 4 used in projects, but I haven't had and issues with them. These are probably the cheapest bang for your buck, when it comes to power supply. Think another Diyer said these are running around 20-40$. Wish I had more information on these, sorry.

      @Lorenzo Vene sound like it could be the fan or a defective relay. That's not A sound you'd here from the curcuit board. Almost sounds like the relay is kicking on and off super fast. Or the fan speeding up because of a temperature change.

      @@njfulwider5 thanks for your availability and your experience in the field, no I assure you it's not the fan, indeed it is very silent, until I activate a load, for example the rx580 video card at low speed normal operations example video and navigation does nothing, as soon as you start a game that noise starts and lasts for the entire game time, it stops as soon as you exit the gaming session, the video card I have seen the characteristics at full capacity does not exceed 200w, being a 750W it should not in the least affect this small load .

      If I remember correctly, I tried this also on a psu and shorted something. I couldn't get it over 12.8V. But there is a video, the guy did some mod to the electrical board with the potentiometers and got it up that high. But I'm not sure what the video name is. Sorry, wish I could of been more useful.

    That power supply will not do 20 amps of charge current at 90v. Although I'm sure you know that already, was a bit confused for a second by the video title description. I use a 48v 2400w eltek power supply coupled to the same 1800w step up converter, using 48v instead of 12v is far less stressful for the converter as there's less of a voltage gap. I have 2 x 40w Delta fans in push pull config built onto either end of a rectangular mdf box with all the electronics in the middle. They push some serious air through for cooling. My charger can actually do close to 20 amps of charge current. Actually shown using the BMS app and using an amp clamp to measure current. My batteries are 20ah EIG pouch cells. They reach around 40 degrees C after charging at that current. Although to be honest most of the time I charge at 10 amps as I don't need that amount of speed. One mistake I made was using 2 x converters on the same power supply to power the fans and step up separately, the noise popped the caps on my step up when I pushed it past ten amps, but functions fine on lower settings ( I assumed that's why you used the diodes??). I've also made a portable charger using a 48v li-ion 40ah battery pack coupled to a step up, to charge my 23s 90 + volt ebike. I used it for a over a year before I sold the bike. Could happily sit at 5 amps trickling away whilst I rode the bike. But one thing I have to stress, these step up modules really do need proper cooling, they don't really stress that at all when buying them, they are 1800w step ups, but only with cooling!! So many people online saying there crap because they got too hot and burned out and they cant handle 1800w at all!!, but they are designed as such that you must add cooling, period! Using them without cooling is like putting remoulds on an F1 car lol.

      Your 100% correct. I usually use an ohm law calculator. The power supply is only 1200watt. At 90v, I might get 10-13 amps. But personally if I needed 90v, I would never go above 5amp. Typically to be safe, I never use more than 50% power and sometimes 75% power with good cooling. I've built multiple power supplies and Posted the videos. To date, I haven't had any issues using this formula. This power supply was built mainly for a 13s ebike and any battery over what my reaktor 300watt 30amp charge could do. I have another power supply that's capable of 50v 20amps, I'll be building soon. Would love to see your builds👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

      @@njfulwider5 well after I sold the bike bike they kind of got mothballed. But I certainly recommend building a portable charger like I have. Most BMS systems will allow you to trickle charge whilst you ride. I used to do fast food delivery. I had my portable 40ah battery with step up/ charger coupled to the top of my frame and it would charge for about 3 and half hours non stop usually I would set it to 4 amps ish whilst I rode to deliveries. Obviously that wouldn't keep up with the useage of the bike but I was delivering then coming back for 5 to 10 minutes waiting for the next then going out again. So it kept up. I did add a fan and used it at 15 amps and it kept up quite well. Even the 40ah of battery got warm though as the input end was pushing out quite a lump current lol. Had to massively beef up the wires. If you've got old batteries laying around defo so it as a project and post a video. People will love the idea I think as you can use any voltage battery lower than your bikes to charge it. Quite handy.

      Hit me up when you have the video done, just encase I miss it. Are you talking about adding a battery instead? I've made a few of those, with my favorite being my lunch box tab welder. I've even made them out of supercaps. I've got 2 of those new mini spot welders coming in this week. That dual pulse color screen welder and a 6 gear welder I found on Amazon used or damaged box for 20$. On this welder, I plan on swapping the screen with the dual pulse version. Both versions are interested changeable. It's one of the reasons I cut a big square. At the time I could only find them in China. Now there everywhere. That has a nice screen and it should make this even more powerful.

    If all the cells are connected to act as a single battery how is it possible for individual "balance charging"?

    • @njfulwider5
      @njfulwider5 Рік тому

      I added a active balancer charging board capable of 1 amp per series, not sure if you missed that part. Combined with the bms, that also has balance. It keeps everything balanced pretty good. There are active balancer capable of 5 amps now. I might purchase one and try it out. Thanks for watching 👍👍👍👍👍

    • @njfulwider5
      @njfulwider5 Рік тому

      @@dust6242 It's not a single cell battery. I'm assuming when you say parallel group, this is what you mean. This battery has 14 series voltage, with each series having 10 batteries in parallel. 14series10parallel. Each series is 4.2v, plus the next series. So 4.2 x 14 series=58.8volts total. Each parallel is 10 batteries with a. Average of 3400mah. So total mah is 34,000 or 34 amp hour. So this 14s10p is 58.8volts and 34 amp hour. Hope that made sense 👍👍👍

    • @njfulwider5
      @njfulwider5 Рік тому

      @@dust6242 the active balancer waits for the voltage to unbalance.. then slowly using resistors and other componits, balance the battery. Unfortunately, there is no charge, just regulation. It does this per cell. The bms is a little different. It only balances when the battery is being charged. This is per cell. Typically around 1/2 amp. Using resistor, the bms regulates the voltage to match a low cell. The cheap bmses are kinda crap when it balances. Reason you get better performance from the more pricey ones, like a Daily BMS. Other than that the bms cuts voltages if charged to high, or discharged to low. It only takes one cell for this. Have you ever watch JehuGarcia's channel. That guy knows a ton about batteries. I learned almost everything from his channel. Let me know and I'll shoot over a link for you. He can probably explain way way better than me.
